A Whimsical Holiday at the Zoo

With lions, tigers, lynx and servals looking on, the Kovler Lion House at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo was transformed with some holiday sparkle in preparation for Santa’s arrival. The glitz, the sparkling lights and the revolving tree kept the large cats & kids excited for the holidays! It was great to see how the natural light coming in through the building’s skylights “played” and bounced off the ornaments as the tree revolved. Adding sparkle and shine that only Mother Nature can achieve! ICA-santa stage 2 Part of the fun of working in the Lion House is having the resident cats watch your every move! As well as the squeals of joy from the children passing through and seeing themselves in the crazy, groovy mirrors! lynxICA-funny mirror reflection As the rest of the Zoo was preparing outdoors for “ZooLights,” our crew was installing more decor in the Reptile & Small Mammal House. The large gecko that greets the Zoo guests looks like he’s hoarding gifts for the other reptiles! While the ceiling was adorned with glittering spheres & metallic wreaths. The bananas, grapes & pears were custom made for the tree. The ICA Elves were all over the Zoo for a couple days making magic happen… and adding a palm frond topper to the Apes’ special tree!
